The concert commemorated the fall of the Berlin wall, which occurred eight months before. As noted by the plaque attached, the prop was stolen by Barry Chase and Scott Woodside, who were hosts of the Z93 radio show in Atlanta at the time. Chase and Woodside were broadcasting live from Berlin during the concert, and stole the prop to bring it back to the United States after the concert was finished. Back in Atlanta, the radio program hosted a theater viewing of the concert, where they raffled off the brick to one of the attendees. ID: The first photo shows the front face of a 58 inch tall, 32 inch wide, and 23 inch deep white Styrofoam brick. The front face has 2 stickers, and one metal plate attached. The Focal Microscope from Kmart was a mass-market educational microscope sold during the mid-to-late 20th century as part of Kmart’s affordable science kit line. Designed for beginners and young students, it typically offered magnification levels around 100×–300× and came with basic tools for viewing prepared slides. Although not a professional laboratory instrument, it introduced many users to hands-on scientific observation at a low cost. Today, it’s considered a nostalgic example of accessible consumer science equipment from big-box retail stores. ID: A basic education microscope with a seafoam green colorway. The microscope was constructed with a metal base and upright arm.
